“Contend With Horses”

A lot of times, it feels like you couldn’t possibly take anymore. You kind of want to yell at God and say, “Enough already!”. We’re done with all the platitudes about having patience and being strengthened and never being given more than we can handle. However, this is where faith is tested. Will you focus on yourself or will you focus on serving God? I think this is a good reminder that Jesus calls us to follow him and following is no passive act. But don’t despair! God will give you strength!

Isaiah 40:31

…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The fact of the matter is this – God wants to use you to do a work for His kingdom.  God has a special call over each and every life but all too often that call goes unfulfilled.  One of the main reasons given is that it’s just too hard.  With that, many give up on the pursuit of excellence and settle into the realm of mediocrity.

Life does get hard sometimes.  Being a Christian is hard sometimes.  Making it to the end of this race of faith gets hard sometimes, but here its as if God is saying…
